Overview
Mr Osama Aweid is a Consultant Orthopaedic Knee Surgeon who specialises in the full spectrum of knee surgery, including sports injuries, cartilage repair, osteotomy, ligament reconstruction, and partial or total knee replacement, with expertise in Mako robotic-assisted procedures.
He qualified from St George’s University, London, in 2008 and completed specialist trauma and orthopaedic training in the Cambridge Deanery. He went on to complete two prestigious fellowships: the Fowler Kennedy Sport and Exercise Medicine Fellowship in Canada and the Bristol Knee Fellowship in the UK, gaining extensive experience across all aspects of knee surgery.
Mr Aweid is also a recognised expert in the treatment of sports-related conditions and was part of the London 2012 Olympics medical team. He holds a Diploma in Sports and Exercise Medicine, two research degrees, and is a Fellow of the Arthroscopy Association of Canada.
Dedicated to education, he regularly teaches on national and international courses, including the Basingstoke Knee Osteotomy Masterclass. Outside of work, he enjoys open-water swimming, hiking, and cycling with his wife and two sons.
